1. Which operating systems are compatible with Tiscali Cinema?
You can use Tiscali Cinema with Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Tiscali Cinema isn't supported on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, MacOS or Linux.

2. What other software is required to use Tiscali Cinema?
  • Windows Media Player 9.0 (or newer)
  • Internet Explorer 5.01 (or newer)
  • JavaScript enabled (Internet settings)
  • ActiveX Controls enabled (Internet settings).
  • Cookies enabled.

3. How can I check my configuration?
Go to our Video Test. Your configuration will be automatically detected and any incompatible settings will be pointed out to you.

4. How do I install Windows Media Player 9?
You can download the latest version of Windows Media Player for free from the Microsoft Windows Media website.
If you find any problem while downloading, follow the instructions given in our Help pages.

5. How do I enable JavaScript?
  • In the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, select Options.
  • In the window that appears, select the Security tab,
  • then click on Custom Level,
  • Now tick Enable for each of the following entries:
    • Allow paste operations via script,
    • Active scripting,
    • Scripting of Java applets.
    • Click Apply then OK

6. How do I enable ActiveX controls?
  • Follow the instruction for enabling JavaScript, above, to get to the Security options, then select Custom Level
  • Now tick Enable for each of the following entries:
    • Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins,
    • Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting,
    • Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe,
    • Download signed ActiveX controls.
Before closing the window, remember to click on Apply.

7. How do I enable Cookies?
  • In the Tool menu in Internet Explorer select Options
  • Then select Privacy
  • Set the privacy setting on Medium,
  • Select Advanced
  • Make sure that "Override automatic cookie handling" is NOT selected.
